Video has the power to improve our ability to communicate with staff, employees, partners and customers. With video, more information is communicated faster, and with more impact, than with words alone. For organizations to realize the benefits of video communications, it’s necessary that everyone have the ability to get the message—regardless of whether they are located across campus, or across the globe.

Reaching your employees where they congregate--in cafeterias, lobbies, hallways and on factory floors, can be challenging. Digital signage allows multimedia messaging to be distributed to passive display devices, such as TVs, plasma screens and LCDs, wherever people are located. Starbak V3 offers an optional digital signage module that extends the reach of enterprise video communications to people who are not in front of a computer, or perhaps don’t work in an office at all.
The Starbak Display Engine is a small set top box that connects to your display device and delivers customized playlists of video, images and slides created in the V3 system. Whether broadcasting the CEO address, updates on campus activities, or emergency notifications, the Starbak Display Engine is a powerful extension of the V3 system.
Starbak Display Engine
The Starbak Display Engine extends the V3 solution to passive displays areas such as cafeterias, lobbies and hallways. This device allows video and jpeg content to be displayed on standard televisions and high resolution LCD and plasma displays. Studio quality video or print quality posters can be produced offline by professional graphics artists, and uploaded through the V3 portal to create powerful digital signage playlists. In addition, content created through other V3 workflows may also be added to playlists, including streaming video of meetings, presentations, and live broadcasts.
Using the Starbak V3 portal, the publisher of the digital signage playlists determines which displays are to be shown the content, specifying the start and stop times, duration, and repeat loops required. The V3 system also provides the capability to interrupt a particular playlist in progress, and immediately display an alternative program, such as a live broadcast, or emergency notification.
